Updating the Hisense Smart TV is essential to make it more responsive and to improve its performance. Updating also fixes temporary issues and clears the cache on Hisense TV. In addition to that, it also brings newly released apps to your Smart TV. Fortunately, all the Hisense TVs have built-in settings to update the firmware. Here, I have explained the steps to update Hisense Smart TV models that are running on different operating systems.

Is It Possible to Update Hisense Xumo TV?
Hisense Xumo TVs update their software automatically and don’t have a separate software update option. So, connecting it to a stable internet connection will do the trick.
How to Update Hisense TV With USB
With a USB drive, you can update the firmware of old Hisense TVs running on Android, Google, and VIDAA OS. This method will also be useful for updating the latest Hisense Smart TVs if the over-the-air update fails. Unfortunately, installing firmware using a USB drive won’t be possible on Hisense Fire and Roku OS models.
- On your PC, go to the following update and search for your TV’s software file by entering its serial number: www.hisense-usa.com/support/firmware-download.
- Download the update file on your PC and copy it to a USB drive.
- Most importantly, rename the update file on the USB drive as upgrade_loader.pkg.
- Now, connect the USB drive to your Hisense TV and launch Settings.
- Select Support โ System Update and click on the Update/Upgrade from USB option.
- Now, your Hisense TV will automatically recognize the software installer file on the USB drive and start performing the upgrade.
How to Update Hisense TV Without Remote
Each OS variant of Hisense TV has a smartphone remote app of its own. Even the RemoteNOW app can work with all the Hisense TV OS models and is the official remote app of Hisense TVs. If you have paired it with your Hisense TV prior, you don’t have to worry about updating the firmware if your remote becomes faulty or lost. Because it offers all the navigation controls available on the physical remote control. Thus, you can use it as a virtual remote control to access the respective on-screen settings menu and update firmware.
Besides the remote interface, these apps don’t provide any built-in option to update the software directly from the smartphone. The remote app to operate your Hisense TV requires only the same WIFI connection for both devices and an initial setup.
